Yes I went to Wal-mart 3 times yesterday. After being in the car with a 4 year old, an almost 2 year old and a 1 year old for 12 hours the day before. You see, it all started...
Last Friday. Reese had been really stuffy and fell asleep in the car. When she woke up she was crying because her ears hurt. Knowing that we were going to be in the car for three days starting first thing Monday morning I took her to a clinic in Plano and had her ears checked. If it was an ear infection I didn't want to have to wait until Thursday (almost a week later) to see a doctor and Reese be in pain the whole time. When we finally got to see the doctor he looked at her ears and said they are not infected but she has soo much fluid in them that it is causing negative pressure and hurting her. He gave me an antibiotic. Well we all know Reese is allergic to Penicillin and so he gave me a sulfur based antibiotic. Reese has had this drug before and was fine so I didn't think anything of it until Tuesday night.
She developed a really high fever, again, and puked everything she had eaten since lunch and started to get spots on her cheeks. We were in Dayton, Ohio for the night and I thought maybe she was playing too hard with her cousins and it was a heat rash. They were running up and down the stairs and playing all sorts of things. They were having a ball until Carter came down and said, "um Aunt Jody, Reese is upstairs Puking!!" So I run upstairs to find that at least it all made it to the sink. Got her cleaned up and put the kids to bed.
Oh it gets better, just wait. When she woke up in the morning, she was covered from head to toe in spots and was itching like nobodies business. It was right then I knew she was allergic to the antibiotic. I didn't give it to her any more, gave her some benadryl and got on the road.
When we got back home at 10:30 at night (an 8 hour trip took 12 & 1/2) she had a hard time going to sleep and when she did she was only asleep for about 2 hours and she was up again. She kept saying she wanted to go to the doctor and get some medicine and that she was really itchy. Finally about 4:30 she fell asleep. She slept until 8:00 in the morning and woke up itchy and cold and so I called her pediatrician. We went in and the doctor said yes it is an allergic reaction to the drug and she wrote a prescription for some steroid to help with the itching. The benadryl was not really helping. So we went to Wal-mart. Trip number one. We went to the pharmacy and the pharmacist said, "It will take about 2 hours" 2 hours? My sister is at my house with Ryan and her 1 year old and I need to get home. Besides who wants to hang out at Wal-mart for 2 hours? Well we left and thought maybe Golden would stop on his way home from work and get her prescription.
Which he did. Trip number 2 to Wal-mart. But when he got there the prescription still wasn't ready and the lady went in to the back and quickly filled the bottle with the medicine. He had to wait a few minutes but she quickly slipped it into the bag and he paid for it and came home. When he got home the missionaries came over and we had dinner. We went to give Reese some of her medicine and all of it had spilled out of the container and was all over the bag. So I called the pharmacy and they said come back in and get some more. So trip number 3 to Wal-mart. We took all the kids after dinner to Wal-mart and finally got Reese some relief to the itching and she slept all night. She is still asleep as I am writing this (which she needs after not being able to sleep for 2 nights).
Now for the I am sorry. As we were leaving Wal-mart for the first time yesterday I was pulling out of the parking space and some old Grandma was speeding through the parking lot and pulled up right behind me and then laid on her horn. When I looked back at her she was yelling and waving her arms and flipped me the bird. I am sorry I didn't see you there before you honked your horn and I am sorry that I am such an inconsiderate driver and I am sorry I made you disgruntled enough to act like that. Now will you come and explain to my 4 year old who saw the whole thing what the middle finger means and why you felt you had to use it? It is a good thing our windows were rolled up because I probably would have to explain some choice words to her as well. A sweet old grandma of all people. What has gotten into people these days?
Other stuff-- We made it home finally and the weather here is just beautiful. The high yesterday was 80 and might be that again today. Jess picked a good week to come. I will download and edit pictures of our trip later. I need to go running before the kids get up.

Again with the energy!!
Ryan amazes me sometimes. This was after we had been swimming all day and then went back to our cousins house to see them and it was past bedtime but there he was. Playing the wii and loving every minute of it.
You know how kids love to imitate older brothers and sisters? Well Ryan learned to box by watching Reese and he actually wins! The funniest part is the laugh at the end. He sounds like a devil child!!
p.s. You will have to turn your head side ways. I am on someone else's computer and couldn't figure it out. But it is still dang cute!!

YES!!!
Thank goodness. We are in Texas. We are here visiting family. All of the Family. We are staying with Grandma Judy who we love soo much and appreciate all she has done for us and for letting us stay with her. We will be in town until Monday July 21 and then we have to get back to good ol' New York. But that is o.k. because Golden just got a job offer here(well it is technically Louisiana but he will be able to commute) so we will be back here sometime this fall. I think he is going to start September 1st. You can all do a happy dance now because we are coming back to Texas. (or for those of you who prefer we stay in New York, move and hide now while there is still time.) Between now and then we have a lot to do.
1. Travel back to New York (an adventure in itself)
2. Go to the beach
3. Find a place to live
4. Pack the house in New York
5. Celebrate our 10 year anniversary
6. Celebrate Ryan's 2nd birthday
7. Start Reese in school
8. Whatever else we want to do before we leave, "Back East"
I think we will be very busy!!

I just remembered
I just remembered a few things Reese has said over the last week. We were in the car working on about hour 19 of our 25 hour trip and Ryan was screaming for something. I asked Reese to see if she could tell what he wanted or what he was reaching for and she said, "Mom, I am really struggling to watch this t.v. show" I just had to laugh. She couldn't glance away from the screen for 2 seconds to see that Ryan had dropped his blanket and all she had to do was reach down in between the car seats to hand it back to him.
Then she was getting dressed the other day and she was struggling to put some socks on. I asked her if she wouldn't just rather wear her flip flops. She said, "I would prefer to wear my brown shoes." There is nothing that funny in these words unless you are a 4 year old.
We miss you daddy!!

We love Texas!!!
We have been in gone from New York for a week now. Our time in Texas has been spent doing a lot of this:
And some of this:
We love hanging out with Grandmas and Grandpa and lots of cousins. We went to Grandmas work the other day and When we left Reese said, "Mom, I just love Texas. I never want to leave." I asked her if she wanted to go back to New York to live with Daddy and see her things again and she said, "No, he can just come here and bring all of our stuff with him." If it weren't for that little thing called a paycheck. I have grown quite fond of it. It is nice to be able to pay your bills on time!!
We love Texas and we will be back.
